St. Mary's Catholic Church in Downtown Eugene is a highly reverberant
room that is excellent for choirs, but a poor space for spoken word.
The nature of the large sanctuary poses many problems for sound
reinforcement. We were able to overcome these issues by
installing multiple speakers with delay fills to minimize reverberation
and maximize intelligibility. The church directors enjoy an
intuitive rack design, with multiple channels of wireless microphones,
dbx compression and system management, Peavey amplification, a
14-channel Mackie mixer and Denon Professional CD/Cassette playback and
recording.
